Holmen Vikings cruises by Sparta Spartans 44-21 in WI high school football game

Holmen High School quarterback Bennett Schild accumulated 119 rushing yards to help the Holmen Vikings to a 44-21 win over the Sparta Spartans on Friday night in a high school football game.

The Vikings also received impressive efforts from running back John Faherty who rushed 9 times for 65 yards and 2 touchdowns and Jason Xiong-Lee who rushed 1 time for 53 yards and 1 touchdown.

Sparta’s running back Simon Schmitz threw for 60 yards and 1 touchdown and wide receiver Lucas Walley had 47 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Holmen improve to 4-0 on the season while Sparta falls to 2-2. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Holmen travels to Reedsburg, WI to take on the Reedsburg Beavers on Friday September 18. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.

Sparta travels to Tomah, WI to face off against the Tomah Timberwolves on Friday September 18. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
