Pontotoc Warriors edges New Albany Bulldogs 38-35 in Mississippi high school football game

Pontotoc High School Running Back Jemarkus Whitfield picked up 161 rushing yards and scored 3 touchdowns to lead Pontotoc Warriors to a 38-35 win over New Albany Bulldogs on Friday night at home in a high school football game.
The Warriors also received helpful efforts from Quarterback Conner Armstrong who completed 9 passes for 71 yards and Running Back Jordan Ball who rushed 13 times for 46 yards and 1 touchdown.
New Albany’s Josiah Mathis threw for 193 yards and 2 touchdowns, Camarius Hill picked up 74 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns and Isaiah Cohran had 142 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.
The win helps Pontotoc improve to 1-0 on the season while New Albany falls to 0-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.
Pontotoc travels to Southaven, MS to take on the DeSoto Central Jaguars on Friday September 11 at 5:00pm. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
