Hoggard Vikings defeat Ashley Screaming Eagle 29-19 in North Carolina high school football game

Hoggard High School <a href=’/north-carolina/football/teams/248646-hoggard-vikings/players/1010652-mkel-bellamy’ alt=’running back M’Kel Bellamy’> running back M’Kel Bellamy</a> picked up 145 rushing yards and scored 1 touchdown to help the Hoggard Vikings to a 29-19 win over the Ashley Screaming Eagle on Friday night at Wilmington, NC in a high school football game.
The Vikings also received vital efforts from quarterback Brody Sumner who completed 8 passes for 59 yards and running back Javion Joseph-Fontaine who rushed 9 times for 61 yards.
Ashley’s wide receiver TYLER CARTER threw for 195 yards and 3 touchdowns, running back Tyjhere Crudup picked up 54 rushing yards and wide receiver Ethan Fay had 110 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.
The win helps Hoggard improve to 6-2 on the season while Ashley falls to 1-8. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.
Hoggard will challenge the E.A. Laney Buccaneers at home on Friday October 21. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
