Cheney Blackhawks edge University Titans 15-14 in Washington high school football game

Cheney High School defensive back Cole Williams accumulated 35 rushing yards to help the Cheney Blackhawks to a 15-14 win over the University Titans on Saturday night in a high school football game.

The Blackhawks also received key efforts from quarterback Josh Whiteley who completed 3 passes for 27 yards and wide receiver Ryan Reickmann who caught 2 passes for 28 yards.

University’s quarterback Tre Buchanen threw for 76 yards and 1 touchdown, Kyle Douglas picked up 19 rushing yards and wide receiver Tyler Boden had 54 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.

The win helps Cheney improve to 1-0 on the season while University falls to 0-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Cheney travels to Mead, WA to face off against the Mt. Spokane Wildcats on Friday March 5. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
