Bishop Verot Vikings crushes Port Charlotte Pirates 56-21 in Florida high school football game

Bishop Verot High School Carter Smith racked up 336 passing yards and threw for 5 touchdowns to lead the Bishop Verot Vikings to a 56-21 win over the Port Charlotte Pirates on Thursday night in a high school football game.

The Vikings also received major efforts from Deshon Jenkins who rushed 14 times for 68 yards and 1 touchdown and Matthew Turner who caught 6 passes for 101 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Port Charlotte’s Eli Manley threw for 61 yards, running back Edd Guerrier picked up 114 rushing yards and running back Justice Becerill had 40 receiving yards.

The win helps Bishop Verot improve to 1-0 on the season while Port Charlotte falls to 0-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.
