Mater Dei Monarchs beat St. John Bosco Braves 34-17 in California high school football game

Mater Dei High School quarterback Elijah Brown picked up 210 passing yards and threw for 4 touchdowns to help the Mater Dei Monarchs to a 34-17 win over the St. John Bosco Braves on Saturday night in a high school football game.

The Monarchs also received crucial efforts from running back Marceese Yetts who rushed 15 times for 85 yards and wide receiver Kyron Ware-hudson who caught 2 passes for 77 yards and 1 touchdown.

St. John Bosco’s quarterback Pierce Clarkson threw for 99 yards and 1 touchdown, running back Jabari Bates picked up 115 rushing yards and 1 touchdown and safety Chedon James had 46 receiving yards.

The win helps Mater Dei improve to 5-0 on the season while St. John Bosco falls to 5-1. Tonight’s game was the first matchup between the two teams.

Mater Dei travels to Corona, CA to challenge the Centennial Huskies on Friday August 20. This is the first matchup between the two teams this season.
